Number of hours to meet the requirement for initial onboarding training

  • Home Health Aides (HHAs) – 120 hours
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNAs) – 150 hours
  • Home Care Aides (HCAs) – 5 hours
  • Residential Care Facility Staff – 40 hours

Number of hours to meet the requirement for annual training

  • Home Health Aides (HHAs) – 24 hours
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNAs) – 48 hours
  • Home Care Aides (HCAs) – 5 hours
  • Residential Care Facility Staff – 20 hours
  • Various nursing professionals – 30 hours

Caregivers can get the following training through CareAcademy

  • Home Care Aides (HCA) need 5 hours of initial training and 5 hours of annual training in specific topics which CareAcademy offers.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNAs) need 48 hours of continuing education over 2 years, 24 hours can be obtained through an approved provider like CareAcademy (NAC provider number 7047). At least 12 hours need to be taken each year.
  • Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) staff need 40 hours of initial training in specific topics and 20 hours of annual training in specific topics which CareAcademy offers.
  • Nursing Professionals need 30 hours of continuing education every 2 years which can be obtained through CareAcademy’s licensed ANCC approved CE.
